If you’ve ever heard the word humility as a small child you might have thought it was something to do with humor or humans. Humility is more like being humble and, we, as Christians, need to have humility. But first, what is humility? The exact definition is; a modest or low view of one's own importance; humbleness. But in simpler words, humility is knowing you’re not the most important, knowing that the world doesn't revolve around you. One great example of humility in the Bible is Jesus. He was humble when WILLINGLY going to the cross knowing He’ll die, but for us to be able to live. He humbly gave up His life for us, the greatest act of humility possible.
And since Christians mean little Christ's, we should be willing to give up our life for others just like Jesus did for us. John 15:13 says, Greater love has no one than this: to lay down one’s life for one’s friends.
