It’s November, which means Thanksgiving. Yay! A week off of school, getting together with family, and stuffing yourself with as much food that you can eat and then some more. But why? Sure, the technical answer is because the pilgrims came over to America. But Thanksgiving is actually about how after the hard cold winter, the pilgrims gathered with the Indians and gave thanks. That’s right. After most of their people died in the winter, they gave thanks to God for all He gave to them. See, the pilgrims had the right kind of attitude. Things looked bad, but they saw how they should be thankful for all the blessings they had in the midst of the bad. That’s the attitude we should have.
When it’s November, we may be having the worst year of our life. We may not feel like there’s anything to be thankful for, but that is the wrong type of mindset. Thanksgiving is all about being grateful for the things we have even if there's a lot of bad things in our life too. Now, I don't know you, but if you're reading this, you're alive so that's one thing to be grateful for. You also have food, water, and a place to lay your head. There! I just named 4 things you can be thankful for, and I'm sure there's a lot more you can be grateful for.
